All we ask is $10 each month to continue the fight for fiscal responsibility; free enterprise and liberty; and limited, effective, and efficient government.

We have an aggressive schedule of events: Candidates Forum (State and Federal), Street Engagements, UNI-TEA rally in Philadelphia, Advocacy and Activist Training, Christmas Cruise for Liberty and Charity Fundraiser, the January 2011 Effecting Change Forum, and Rallies to make our voices heard when necessary. We have costs for venue rentals, printed materials, website, phone and sound and staging and other items only when necessary.

These events are vital to educating and empowering New York Metro citizens and holding candidates as well as elected and appointed officials accountable. Our all-volunteer leadership and your involvement is the ’sweat equity’ that makes this organically-grown, grassroots organization a force for good. There is a cost; we need your financial support.

Donations by mail: TeaParty365, P.O. Box 4962, New York, NY 10185

TeaParty365 is a national sponsor of the Contract From America.

Below is the Contract and the top ten items that hundreds of thousands of Americans voted for!

Please read below and visit the Contract at www.contractfromamerica.com

We, the citizens of the United States of America, call upon those seeking to represent
us in public office to sign the Contract from America and by doing so commit to support
each of its agenda items and advocate on behalf of individual liberty, limited
government, and economic freedom.

Individual Liberty
Our moral, political, and economic liberties are inherent, not granted by our government. It is essential to the practice of these liberties that we be free from restriction over our peaceful political expression and free from excessive control over our economic choices.

Limited Government
The purpose of our government is to exercise only those limited powers that have been relinquished to it by the people, chief among these being the protection of our liberties by administering justice and ensuring our safety from threats arising inside or outside our country’s sovereign borders. When our government ventures beyond these
functions and attempts to increase its power over the marketplace and the economic decisions of individuals, our liberties are diminished and the probability of corruption, internal strife, economic depression, and poverty increases.

Economic Freedom
The most powerful, proven instrument of material and social progress is the free market. The market economy, driven by the accumulated expressions of individual economic choices, is the only economic system that preserves and enhances individual liberty. Any other economic system, regardless of its intended pragmatic benefits, undermines
our fundamental rights as free people.

1. Protect the Constitution
Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does.

2. Reject Cap & Trade
Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumer prices, and weaken the nation’s global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures.

3. Demand a Balanced Budget
Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike.

4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform
Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words—the length of the original Constitution.

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington
Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited
government consistent with the US Constitution’s meaning.

6. End Runaway Government Spending
Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth.

7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care
Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isn’t restricted by state boundaries.

8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy
Authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition and jobs.

9. Stop the Pork
Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark.

10. Stop the Tax Hikes
Permanently repeal all tax hikes, including those to the income, capital gains, and death taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011.

December 5th – Stop The Terror Trial in NYC Rally

Click to Download the 9/11 Stop The Terror Trials In NYC Rally Flyer

Tea Party 365 is a sponsoring organization of the 9/11 Never Forget Coalition Rally. We joined the coalition because this is a very important issue for New York and America. Tea Party 365 also takes the position that the additional costs to, and economic effects on the City of New York especially in this recession is an irresponsible waste of taxpayer dollars.

The 9/11 Never Forget Coalition http://www.911neverforget.us, a diverse group of 9/11 victims, family members, first responders, active and reserve members of the military, veterans, and concerned Americans, is holding a December 5th rally protesting the plan to bring the 9/11 terrorist conspirators to trial in New York City.

The Coalition formed to fight the decision of President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to try the 9/11 co-conspirators in New York City’s federal court, effectively giving war criminals the same rights as American citizens while endangering the safety of all New Yorkers. Two weeks ago, we sent a letter signed by 300 family members of 9/11 victims to the President, Attorney General and Defense Secretary Robert Gates asking them to reverse course. The letter has now been signed by over 120,000 Americans and is posted at http://www.keepamericasafe.com. Please visit the site and add your signature if you so wish.

Updated details on the rally and any post event activities will be posted here and at www.911NeverForget.us. Please encourage your neighbors to signup for email updates.

We need to raise $5,000 by the end of the year and with your help, as a few times before, we will reach that goal!

FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey talks to newly elected New York State GOP Chairman Ed Cox.

Former House Majority Leader and FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey spoke at TeaParty365’s New York City “Tuesday Tea Party” last night, Wednesday, Nov. 10th to over 100 New York City Tea Party Volunteer Leaders.

What made things interesting is that newly elected New York State GOP Chairman Ed Cox spoke right after Dick Armey. Remember that little congressional race called NY-23 a week ago? They both do as Dick Armey was up in New York campaigning for Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman while the Republican Party’s candidate Dede Scozzafava dropped out of the race to avoid a split vote loss. This occurred anyway.

Dick Armey’s charm was ever present as he talked about the importance of standing for principles and individualism and never for “a party.” He took a dig at the NY Giants (which was a good-spirited way to open) and also talked about Thomas Sowell’s genius and Howard Roark from Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead, (as a former architect, a personal favorite).

Recently elected New York State GOP Chairman Ed Cox spoke right after Dick Armey and quickly made it clear that he was not NY State GOP Chairman while the Scozzafava / Hoffman battle was brewing. Unfortunately, the Cox speech wasn’t taped but it was good.

He was appreciative in speaking and stated his awareness of the tension between “party” and “principle.” Chairman Cox speaking for the NY GOP appears dedicated to bridging that divide and reaching out to independent grassroots organizations like the Tea Party movement that have no allegiance to a political party but instead, to the values of fiscal responsibility and common sense governance.

Having met with Chairman Cox a few weeks ago, he seemed to really understand what the Republican Party in New York State has to do to attract independent and non-partisan grassroots organizations. He showed his willingness to face the fire by making an appearance at our Tuesday Tea Party Volunteer Networking social and telling over 100 TeaParty365 New York City Volunteer Leaders what his goals are in New York State.

I’m still waiting for a response to my email to Democratic Party State Chairman Jay Jacobs.

Radio host and Xtreme Media CEO Kevin McCullough spoke briefly thereafter with wit, succinctness and purpose; a perfect way to end the 20 minute speech segment of our event. Then everyone networked, enjoyed an adult beverage of their choiceand got down to brass tacks: how to hold elected officials in New York City accountable for wasteful spending.

As TeaParty365, the New York City Metro Tea Party, moves forward, we don’t see the impenetrable fortress that most outsiders see. We see the reality that like other regions in the country, New York City does indeed have many opportunities to elect representatives that will practice fiscal responsibility. It is our job to make TeaParty365 a household name in New York City and let all New Yorkers know that there is an advocacy group fighting for fiscally sound use of their tax dollars when no one else will.
